LinkedIn Headshots Toronto. Profile Photos That Convert

A LinkedIn headshot has one job: get the person looking at your profile to read past your name. Mine are shot fast, cropped exactly for LinkedIn's display frame, and delivered same-week. One-image sessions start at $200, $100 session fee plus $100 for one fully retouched image, exported in every crop LinkedIn, Slack, Teams, Calendly, and your website avatar will ask for.

Why most LinkedIn headshots underperform

LinkedIn's data is unambiguous: profiles with professional headshots receive 14× more views and are 36× more likely to receive a message than those without. That is not a marketing line, it is from LinkedIn's internal product reporting on profile completeness.

But not every headshot does that work equally. The ones that fail share a few traits:

  • Cropped to "torso and head" instead of "shoulders and head": LinkedIn renders the image at 400×400 inside a circle. A torso crop loses two-thirds of the face at display size.
  • Background that competes with the face: busy office, a window, a textured wall. Inside a circle at thumbnail size, the face needs to be the only thing the eye lands on.
  • The wrong expression for the role: a closed-mouth corporate stare for a sales role; a wide grin for a CTO role. Expression has to match what your title implies.
  • Filters and over-retouching: LinkedIn searchers are looking at hundreds of profiles. A face that looks airbrushed reads as "trying too hard" before they read your name.

Every LinkedIn session I shoot is composed for the 400×400 circular crop first, with wider crops delivered as bonuses. If the image works at thumbnail size, it works everywhere.

What's included in a $200 LinkedIn session

  • 20-minute studio session, multiple wardrobe options
  • Direct posing: I tell you exactly where to put your eyes, your chin, your shoulders. No modelling experience needed.
  • 40–60 frames to choose one from
  • Same-day proof gallery: pick your favourite the day of the session
  • One fully retouched final image ($100), with multiple crops included:
    • LinkedIn (1:1 square, optimised for the 400×400 circular display)
    • Website hero / About page (3:4 vertical)
    • Slack / Teams / Zoom avatar (1:1)
    • Calendly profile (1:1, slightly different padding)
    • High-resolution print (300dpi for business-card or trade-show use)
  • Both colour and black-and-white versions of your final image, no extra charge

Need a second image (commercial-look, character-look, or industry alternate)? Add $100 for each additional fully retouched image.

Pricing

Item Cost
Session fee (weekday) $100
Session fee (weekend) $150
One fully retouched final image (multi-crop delivery) $100
Each additional retouched image $100
Hair / light makeup (optional) $100–$200/hr
Rush 24-hour turnaround +$100

Most LinkedIn-only clients leave with one image at $200 total. Compared to chain studios in Toronto (typically $400–$700 with package minimums), it is roughly half the price for way better quality, in a faster turnaround, it's a no brainer.

How LinkedIn images differ from corporate or actor headshots

LinkedIn (this page) Corporate (team session) Actor
Primary use Your personal profile, one decisive image Whole-team consistency Casting platforms, agent submissions
Crop 1:1 square, framed for 400×400 circle Multi-crop, house style 1:1 + horizontal + vertical for casting platforms
Expression Approachable + credible (one image, one feel) Aligned across team, neutral Multiple ranges per session (theatrical, commercial, character)
Sessions per booking 1 person, 20 min Team, half-day or full-day 1 person, 30–45 min
Best for Solo professionals, founders, freelancers, job-seekers Companies of 5+ people Working actors, performers, students

If you fit more than one of these, for example, you're a founder who needs a LinkedIn image and the rest of the team needs corporate headshots, the studio session can run as a single half-day with all of you in sequence.

What to wear for a LinkedIn headshot

The single best predictor of a strong LinkedIn image is wardrobe choice. Three rules:

  1. Solid, saturated colours: navy, deep green, burgundy, charcoal, ivory. Avoid black at the neckline (it disappears into shadow), bright white (clips highlights), and busy patterns (read as noise at thumbnail size).
  2. Layer up: a blazer, jacket, or structured top adds definition at the shoulders, which is most of what shows in the LinkedIn circle. A plain t-shirt reads as casual to the point of looking unfinished.
  3. Match the role you're applying for, not the role you have: if you're a senior IC about to interview for a director-level role, dress for the director-level role. The headshot is forward-looking.

A full preparation guide with examples, plus what to do the morning of the session, is sent at booking.

Same-week availability

LinkedIn headshots are usually booked when someone realises their current photo is hurting them, typically right before a job search or a launch. The studio runs 5 days a week with weekend slots on demand, and a single 20-minute LinkedIn session is easy to slot in. Most LinkedIn clients book and shoot inside the same week, with finals in their inbox 2–3 days after the session.

Frequently asked

Will my image actually work in LinkedIn's circular crop?

Yes. The studio's framing template is built around it. We shoot 1:1 from the start, and I show you the LinkedIn-circle crop on the studio monitor between frames so you can see exactly what your profile will look like.

Do you do "remote" or "AI" LinkedIn headshots?

No. AI-generated headshots are detectable, both by the eye and increasingly by automated platform checks, and they age poorly, the AI style of mid-2026 will look dated in 2027 the way Snapchat-filter portraits from 2017 look now. The studio offers an in-person session at a price that is competitive with most AI products.

I work remote, can you shoot LinkedIn headshots over Zoom?

No. Webcam-quality images are exactly the problem you came to fix. The studio is a 20-minute Uber from anywhere downtown.

Can I bring my partner / friend for a couples LinkedIn session?

Yes. A two-person session at the same time is $100 session fee total + $100 per finished image. Useful for co-founders, business partners, and family-business pairs.

What if I hate my photo on LinkedIn three months later?

I deliver multiple looks even from a one-image session, one square LinkedIn crop, one horizontal website crop, I can deliver one black-and-white version as well. If you decide three months later that the brighter expression worked better, you can re-edit from the same session for $50, no reshoot needed.
