What a business headshot costs in Toronto

Most Toronto studios sell a package: you commit to four images before you know whether you want four images. I price the session and the images separately. One strong business headshot costs $200 all in, and you are never buying frames you did not want to reach a minimum.

Most people spend between $200 and $400. If you need one image for a website bio, that is $200. If you want a vertical for the website, a square for LinkedIn, and a relaxed one for speaking bios, that is $400.

The common thread is that the photograph has to earn trust from a stranger before any conversation happens. What changes is how formal it needs to look.

These are different jobs and they are priced and scheduled differently, so it is worth naming which one you need.

A business headshot is one person booking for themselves. You pick your own time, we take as long as it takes, and you choose your images afterwards. That is this page.

A corporate headshot session is a company photographing several people so the set matches. Same light, same background, same crop, so the team page looks deliberate instead of assembled from whatever everyone had. Those run in studio or on site at your office and are quoted per group.

What happens in the session

There is no set time limit. Sessions run about two hours on average and they end when we have the picture, not when a slot expires. Most people arrive saying they photograph badly. That is the normal starting position, not a problem, and it is almost always a direction problem rather than a face problem.

I shoot tethered, so every frame appears on a screen as we go. You see what is working while there is still time to change it, which turns the session into something you are steering rather than something happening to you. You leave having already seen your own images, and you pick finals from a proof gallery instead of from memory.

What to wear for a business headshot

  • Solid, mid to deep colours. They hold their shape on screen. Bright white blows out and fine patterns strobe when the image is scaled down to a thumbnail.
  • A layer. A blazer or jacket reads as more senior and gives a second look without a full change of clothes.
  • Necklines that finish cleanly. A collar, crew, or simple V. Anything fussy competes with your jaw at this framing.
  • Two or three options. One notch more formal than your daily work wear, one notch less, and one you genuinely like wearing.
  • Bring your glasses if you wear them daily. People should recognise you from the photograph. Glare is handled in the lighting, not by taking them off.
  • Skip the fresh haircut. A week of growth photographs better than a day.

How fast you get your images

Proofs are available the same day. Once you choose your finals, retouched files come back within 5 business days. If you need them sooner, 24 hour rush is +$100. You get each final at high resolution for print and at web resolution, correctly sized, so you are not uploading a 12 megabyte file to your firm’s website.

Same-week sessions are usually available, and weekends run on demand.
